Re-relation is a limited series of signed and numbered photographic prints intended as a pretext to reflect on the relationship between humans and the non-human world. We propose eight images and stories about closeness, devotion, boundaries and mutual dependencies.
For hundreds of years rivers have connected people, they have been transport routes, meeting places for groups living opposite each other. But man has used the goods of nature according to the need of the moment. In the case of the Prosna River, this moment lasted 500 years.
Wars have passed, regimes have passed, borders have shifted. Prosna was freed from the obligation to divide people. Now there are only meadows, sun and water around. Birds and animals appeared. The river returned to nature.
The photograph is part of the „How to Rejuvenate an Eagle” project appreciated by Aperture Foundation and Paris Photo in the Photo Book of the Year 2020 competition.
